Regulatory, Relationship and Editorial Disclosure
Legal identity, educational purpose, separate professional capacities, compensation and material conflicts
Effective date: August 11, 2026 | Version 1.1
The central distinction
The Merrick Spitters Reset Report™ publishes education and commentary. It is not a legal entity, advisory firm, exempt market dealer, insurance agency, portfolio manager, law firm, accounting firm or tax practice. Separate regulated or professional services are provided only by the person or organization identified in the applicable governing documents.
1. Ownership and legal status
The Merrick Spitters Reset Report™ is jointly owned intellectual property of its authors, Adrian C. Spitters and Peter J. Merrick. Adrian and Peter are co-authors, co-creators and publishers. The brand does not itself enter contracts, open accounts, provide regulated advice, receive client assets, receive transaction compensation or assume responsibility for regulated services.
Joint authorship and publication do not merge the authors’ separate professional businesses, registrations, licences, duties, compensation or complaint processes and do not create a partnership or jointly regulated firm.
2. Editorial and educational purpose
Articles, white papers, books, frameworks, interviews and newsletters present education, research, analysis and opinion. They may discuss monetary systems, markets, securities, insurance, precious metals, private assets, taxation, estate and succession concepts, property rights, jurisdictional risk and related policy issues. They do not provide a personalized recommendation or determine suitability, eligibility, legal rights or tax consequences.
3. No professional relationship from website use
A subscription, download, contact request, meeting booking or response to editorial content does not create a client or professional relationship. The responsible person or legal organization must accept the engagement and complete the required scope, consent, disclosure, account, insurance, referral or other governing documents.
4. Capacity and responsibility map
Channel — Responsible person or organization

Financial planning Performance Financial Consultants Ltd., operating as PFC Wealth Solutions™, under a separately agreed client-specific scope.
Insurance Adrian in his individually licensed capacity in British Columbia and Ontario; Peter in his individually and personally licensed Ontario insurance-advisor capacity through MAX Financial Ltd.; and, in British Columbia, PFC through its active corporate licence. PFC’s Ontario corporate insurance agency licence is pending. MAX Financial Ltd. and applicable insurers perform their own roles.

PFC and the Reset Report do not offer securities in their own capacity.
Discretionary portfolio management The applicable independently registered portfolio manager under its own acceptance process, agreement, mandate, custody, fees, records and reporting.
Direct precious-metals referral Adrian and Peter may jointly introduce a person to New World Precious Metals under their disclosed referral arrangement. New World acts as broker and places applicable business through Precious Metals International Ltd. or Questrade. This channel is separate from Axcess unless expressly documented otherwise.
Peter’s professional services Peter or the separate legal organization identified in the applicable engagement and disclosure documents. Those services are not provided by PFC, Axcess or the Reset Report brand.
5. Securities and investment content
Content is not an offering, trade instruction or solicitation to buy or sell a security. Private and exempt-market securities can be speculative, illiquid, difficult to value, subject to resale restrictions and capable of partial or total loss. Registration, investor qualification, know-your-client, suitability, conflicts, account opening and transaction activity are handled only by the responsible registered firm under current documents.
6. Insurance content
Insurance discussion is educational unless Adrian, Peter or PFC is expressly acting in a disclosed licensed capacity. Peter’s licensed insurance activity is personal and limited to Ontario. No article, website statement, preliminary discussion, illustration or quotation creates coverage. Coverage begins only when confirmed by the insurer under the issued policy or binder and all stated conditions are satisfied.
7. Precious metals and other assets
Precious metals can fluctuate in price and may involve spreads, commissions, storage, insurance, custody, delivery, foreign-exchange, liquidity, counterparty and tax considerations. Product, account, custody and transaction terms are governed by the responsible organization. Similar care is required for private real estate, private credit, businesses, farmland and other assets discussed in editorial content.
8. Compensation and material conflicts
Source — Possible benefit and required separation
Books, speaking and publishing The authors may receive royalties, speaking fees or other disclosed publishing income. A retailer or platform may also receive compensation.
PFC planning PFC may receive agreed planning fees or other client-specific charges stated in its engagement.
Insurance MAX Financial Ltd. or an insurer may pay commissions directly to Adrian or Peter in their individually licensed capacities, to PFC where permitted, or through a disclosed combination. Under their separate agreement, Peter shares applicable insurance revenue with Adrian for business processed through MAX Financial Ltd. The recipient, capacity and allocation are disclosed before engagement or a transaction.
Axcess Adrian’s compensation may include referral compensation and dealing-representative compensation connected with his registered activity. Peter may receive referral compensation only under his separate alternative-investment and private-wealth referral arrangement. Adrian shares applicable Axcess referral revenue with Peter; this does not characterize Peter as receiving dealing-representative compensation. Governing Axcess documents identify the payee, calculation and amount where required.
Portfolio manager A separately documented referral arrangement may result in referral compensation to the payee identified in the governing disclosure. The registered portfolio manager remains responsible for its services.
New World New World may pay qualifying direct-referral compensation to Performance Financial Consultants Ltd. under the governing referral arrangement. Adrian shares the resulting New World referral revenue with Peter under their separate agreement. Adrian does not currently receive the New World payment directly in his personal capacity. The governing disclosure identifies the payee and allocation.
Peter’s services Peter or an identified organization may receive fees, commissions or other compensation described in its applicable engagement and disclosure documents.
The applicable compensation and referral relationships are disclosed before a client engages with Axcess Capital Advisors, MAX Financial Ltd. or New World Precious Metals and in any required governing documents. A financial or reputational benefit can create an actual or potential conflict. Conflicts are addressed through role separation, clear identification of the acting party, written disclosure, informed consent where required, professional judgment and applicable supervision. Disclosure does not make an unsuitable product, service or recommendation suitable.
9. Sponsored content, endorsements and affiliate links
If content is sponsored, paid, supplied by a commercial party, connected to an affiliate link or influenced by another material relationship, that connection must be disclosed clearly and prominently near the relevant content. Editorial references and general footer language do not replace that disclosure.
10. No guarantees and editorial limitations
The publishers do not guarantee investment performance, insurance outcomes, tax results, business sales, valuations, financing, succession results, asset protection, precious-metals prices, liquidity, custody, delivery or any other future event. Forecasts, scenarios and opinions may be wrong. Past performance and historical examples do not guarantee future results.
11. Privacy and routing of inquiries
The Reset Report Privacy Policy governs information controlled by the publishers. If an inquiry is routed to PFC, Axcess, an insurer, portfolio manager, New World, Peter’s separate professional practice or another organization, the receiving party’s privacy notice, records, consent and complaint process apply. Information is not automatically shared between capacities.
