Last night, I reread The Prince by Niccolò Machiavelli. I could not sleep after. His words hit me harder than ever. He wrote about how power really works, not how we wish it worked. He showed that most individuals follow the surface and not the truth underneath. That bad leaders win because they know how to trick individuals who are tired, scared, and desperate for simple answers. After I closed the book, I sat there asking myself a question. Why would Canadians vote for Mark Carney today?
Mark Carney is no mystery. He has three citizenships. Canadian. British. Irish. He worked for Goldman Sachs, the Wall Street giant that helped crash the world economy. He was Governor of the Bank of Canada, then Governor of the Bank of England. In both jobs, he helped the rich while the middle class fell behind.
Carney’s fingerprints are all over the policies that made homes unaffordable and everyday life more expensive. He now pushes carbon taxes, digital currencies, and green energy plans that punish ordinary individuals while big corporations get richer. He is tied closely to the World Economic Forum, the United Nations, and other global groups that are not looking out for Canadians. His loyalty is not to Canada. His loyalty is to a global system that wants control.
Yet today, many Canadians are about to vote him into power.
Why?
Because Carney looks smooth. He speaks in calm, confident tones. He offers easy promises. And individuals, after years of fear, inflation, and confusion, are desperate for someone to tell them it will be okay. Even if it is a lie.
Machiavelli warned about this very thing. Individuals would rather believe a comfortable lie than face a hard truth. They want safety more than freedom. They want someone to tell them everything will work out, even when it will not.
If Canadians vote for Mark Carney today, they are not choosing hope. They are choosing control. They are choosing more taxes. More rules. More surveillance. Less freedom. They are choosing to live in a managed system where their lives are tracked and controlled under the name of safety and fairness.
It will not happen all at once. It will come little by little. A new tax here. A new rule there. A new restriction on what you can say. A new limit on what you can buy. Step by step, freedom will fade away. Until one day you will wake up and realize you are no longer free. You are managed. You are owned.
And when that day comes, it will be too late to undo it.
Mark Carney is not an outsider. He is the insider. He is the face of the very system that broke your trust, destroyed your savings, and crushed your hopes. He is not coming to fix the mess. He is coming to tighten the chains.
Today is not just another election. It is a test. It is a test of whether Canadians have learned anything from the pain of the last decade. It is a test of whether Canadians still have the courage to say no to lies, no to control, and yes to freedom.
If Canadians vote for Mark Carney, they are choosing their own nightmare. They will have no one to blame but themselves when life gets harder and darker. Because they will have chosen it.
Freedom is not easy. It never has been. It takes strength. It takes the willingness to hear hard truths. It takes courage to walk away from the easy lie and face the harder road.
Today, Canadians must choose. Freedom or slavery. Truth or illusion. Courage or fear.
I hope Canadians choose wisely. Because if they choose wrong, the country we know and love will be gone.
And once it is gone, it will not come back.
