Carney is not running to govern. He is running to consolidate control.
Mark Carney’s campaign is not rooted in public service. It is rooted in systems management. His rise is not about leadership in the traditional democratic sense. It is about completing a financial transformation already in motion. Backed by global institutions and private capital, Carney is positioned to enforce the frameworks he helped design. From climate finance to digital identification, he is not stepping into office to represent Canadians. He is stepping in to integrate Canada into a model where national sovereignty is replaced by international compliance and institutional control.
A Crisis Disguised as a Transition
April 28, 2025, may not simply mark another federal election. It could become the moment when Canada quietly transitions from a sovereign country to a managed financial zone. The capture will not come through tanks or treaties but through tariffs, compliance frameworks, and digital control.
In It Starts With Gold, our #1 international bestselling book, we warned that the next economic crisis would not look like the last one. It would be dressed in the language of climate, fairness, and innovation. But beneath the buzzwords, it would be a global restructuring, deliberate, data-driven, and designed to transfer control from the public to the institutional elite.
Mark Carney is being sold to Canadians as a statesman. But behind the curtain, corporate entities like Brookfield Asset Management are positioned to profit from every stage of the transition we laid out in the book.
The Squeeze from the South
On April 2, 2025, President Donald Trump announced sweeping tariffs, including a 10 percent baseline tariff on all imports and a 25 percent tariff on specific goods from Canada, Mexico, and China. These measures, referred to as “Liberation Day” tariffs, are now hitting Canadian agriculture, energy exports, and manufacturing. These sectors were already strained by climate compliance costs.
As explained in It Starts With Gold, external economic pressure can serve as the perfect cover for internal restructuring. Trump’s tariffs create the disruption. What comes next is the managed response.
Carney’s Playbook
Carney did not step into politics to shield Canadians from collapse. He is stepping in to restructure them through it. After years of designing global climate finance enforcement as head of the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ), the Taskforce on Scaling Voluntary Carbon Markets (TSVCM), and the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS), Carney is now poised to enforce those same frameworks in Canada.
GFANZ is a coalition of financial institutions representing over $130 trillion in assets committed to advancing Net Zero goals. TSVCM aims to develop global markets for trading carbon credits and offsetting emissions. NGFS is a network of central banks and regulators that develop financial policy to address climate-related risks.
As Prime Minister, Carney would convert Canada into a testbed for Net Zero compliance. Access to capital, credit, and even insurance would depend on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) alignment. As we made clear in the book, this agenda has little to do with saving the planet and everything to do with controlling economic behaviour.
Brookfield: Positioned to Profit
Brookfield Asset Management, where Carney served as Vice Chairman, holds nearly $1 trillion in assets across infrastructure, green energy, and real estate. These are precisely the sectors most likely to be disrupted and devalued by a convergence of trade sanctions and ESG regulation.
As Canadian businesses, farms, and energy producers collapse under this pressure, Brookfield and its institutional allies are positioned to buy up distressed assets for pennies on the dollar. This is not coincidence. It is coordination. In It Starts With Gold, we called this the engineered transfer of ownership through policy.
Programmable Control
Carney’s regulatory vision does not end with ESG mandates. It extends into digital infrastructure and programmable finance. Canadians can expect a fast-tracked rollout of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), smart meters, and carbon scoring systems that enable or restrict transactions.
CBDCs are digital versions of national currencies issued by central banks. Unlike cash, they can be programmed with rules that limit how and where they can be used. Paired with ESG scoring and digital ID systems, they form a mechanism of real-time behavioural control.
As we warned in the book, this will create a system where your ability to spend is no longer determined by how much you earn but by whether you comply. Carney will say it is necessary for the climate. The reality is that it creates a data-driven control grid.
Controlling the Story
You will not hear this narrative in the mainstream press. Government-subsidized media presents Carney as the adult in the room. The tariffs are being framed as a threat, and Carney’s regulations as the solution. But this is not protection. It is capture.
Those who object to digital ID, programmable money, or ESG control are being painted as conspiracy theorists. As It Starts With Gold, explained, dissent will not be banned outright. It will be digitally buried and socially discredited.
Trump and Carney: Not Opposites, but Complements
Trump and Carney may appear to represent opposite ends of the political spectrum. One a nationalist, the other a globalist. But both are playing roles in the same sequence. Trump delivers the external shock. Carney imposes the internal structure. Brookfield collects the spoils.
The end result is not conflict. It is convergence. And it is unfolding now.
The Future of Canada if Carney is Elected as Prime Minister of Canada
If Carney is elected and these systems are activated, Canada will no longer function as an independent nation. Ownership will become conditional. Transactions will be monitored. Freedom of speech will be filtered through digital enforcement.
As we wrote in It Starts With Gold, the real threat is not a one-time crisis. It is a permanent transformation. By the time Canadians realise what has changed, the change will be complete.
This Is the Moment
The frameworks are ready. The pressure has begun. All that is missing is public consent. April 28 may be the moment that consent is given. Or the moment Canadians choose to resist.
