Debanked for Dissent: A Financial Access Crisis No One Voted For
By Peter J. Merrick, TEP® and Adrian C. Spitters, CFP®, co-authors of the international bestseller It Starts With Gold™ and the forthcoming book Guns, Gold & Land™
This analysis continues a series of long-form investigations published in The Merrick Spitters Reset Report™
When Banks Become Gatekeepers Of Political Compliance, The Future Of Financial Freedom Is At Risk
On July 23, 2025, we learned that Canadian constitutional lawyer Eva Chipiuk has been debanked. No legal process. No criminal charges. No court finding. Just a letter from the Royal Bank of Canada stating her accounts would be closed. No notice. No hearing. Simply: you are out.
That single act feels personal. It is personal. Eva spoke publicly during the Public Order Emergency Commission. She questioned when the Prime Minister and finance officials became uncomfortable with dissent from their own citizens. That question may have flagged her. And shortly after, her financial access was revoked.
This Is Not an Isolated Incident
This isn’t an isolated event. It’s part of an emerging pattern. It’s systemic. And it appears intentional.

We first amined this pattern in It Starts With Gold™, our international bestseller, and we go even deeper in The Last Asset Standing™, coming soon. Both books expose how cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and central bank digital currencies are not liberation. They are traps: programmable money that can be disabled at the push of a button.
Financial Access Denied: Real-World Examples
Real people are already being cut off from financial access:
-
- Nigel Farage was dropped by Coutts, part of NatWest Bank. The explanation cited a “values mismatch,” not finances.
- Marine Le Pen had her personal and party accounts terminated in France under a vague “compliance risk” label.
- Michael Knowles, commentator with The Daily Wire, was stripped of Stripe services due to content disagreements.
- Donors to Canada’s Freedom Convoy, including truckers and Western Canadians, had accounts frozen under the Emergencies Act without charges or court proceedings.
- Farmers applying to Farm Credit Canada were denied loans. Internal memos suggest links to protest support, even where no donations occurred.
A New Era of Conditional Access
This isn’t happening in authoritarian regimes. It’s happening in Western democracies. Access to your financial life is no longer guaranteed. It is now conditional. Your money is yours, until it isn’t.
The Historical Pattern of Control
History teaches that when financial systems are used as tools of control, the result is always dangerous. The lesson is not new, but it is urgent.
What are we trading for convenience? What are we surrendering in the name of safety or efficiency? We saw the arrival of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) scores. Then, content moderation. Now, financial exclusion. What comes next is programmable loyalty. Perhaps restricted travel. Perhaps ideological tests for financial access.
The Case for Real, Secure Assets
In both of our books, we outline a hierarchy of risk by Owning Assets in Order of Asset Security. This is not theory. It is a practical strategy. Liquid digital wallets and bank accounts are the most vulnerable. They live inside the system. Precious metal coins, held in private custody, are the least vulnerable. They exist outside the programmable grid.
Take Action Now
We urge you to act. Begin holding physical gold and silver outside of the Financial Industrial Complex. Build real, tangible wealth that cannot be digitally turned off.
This isn’t alarmism. It’s an observable fact. These events are happening. Individuals are losing access to their own money. We issue this warning so that you can prepare while there is still time.
You can remain inside the system’s cage, or you can become The Last Asset Standing™.

Don’t Wait Until It’s Too Late
The time to prepare is before the collapse, not after.
This is about more than money. This is about the redefinition of property, privacy, and freedom. Once the new systems are fully embedded, reversing them will be nearly impossible.
Draw your line now. Soon, you may not get the chance.
