This morning, I walked down to the San Diego harbor on this Thursday, July 7, 2025. The air was still. I stood across from Naval Base San Diego, staring across the calm water at the quiet might of the ships on Coronado Island. I watched the sun reflect off steel and concrete. Everything looked normal.
