Canada’s Greatest Crook: How Canada Was Sold Without a Vote
By Peter J. Merrick, TEP® and Adrian C. Spitters, CFP®, co-authors of the international bestseller It Starts With Gold™ and the forthcoming book Guns, Gold & Land™
This analysis continues a series of long-form investigations published in The Merrick Spitters Reset Report™
A five-year plan of deception, offshore manoeuvres, and political installation executed without consent to erase Canadian sovereignty.
The Setup: A Nation Primed for Takeover
As Canadian citizens, we are terrified that after nearly a decade of Justin Trudeau dismantling our nation from within, his replacement has already been chosen. Not by the people. Not by voters. But by his globalist allies at the World Economic Forum and the central banking cartel that pulls their strings. That man is Mark Carney. And if you thought Trudeau was bad, Carney is the endgame.
We warned about this. As co-authors of the number one international best-selling book, It Starts With Gold, we laid out how Carney was not rising; he was being installed. Groomed by financial elites to take down Canada from within, his backers include the World Economic Forum, global banking syndicates, and supranational asset managers who treat sovereign nations as investment vehicles. What follows is not a theory. It is a calculated series of events that have unfolded with surgical precision over five years.
The Financial Foundation: Brookfield and Bermuda
The timeline begins in August 2020, when Mark Carney took the role of Vice Chair at Brookfield Asset Management, one of the largest private asset managers in the world. This firm would become his financial home base.
In Fall 2020, Carney was quietly appointed as an unofficial economic advisor to Prime Minister Trudeau, under the label “pro bono,” freeing him from any requirement to disclose potential conflicts of interest or financial entanglements.
In November 2020, Brookfield launched Brookfield Reinsurance Partners in Bermuda, creating an offshore structure shielded from Canadian regulators. This was no coincidence. It was the first in a series of legal relocations that would transfer vast sums of capital outside Canada’s reach.
Shadow Moves and Political Preparation
By 2024, Carney’s political preparation was accelerating. In May, Brookfield appointed a new Chief Financial Officer whose name would later be linked to a covert foreign meeting.
Then, on August 12, 2024, Liberal MP Chandra Arya travelled to India on an unsanctioned visit alongside Brookfield’s CFO, his own son. The trip triggered warnings from CSIS, but the Liberal government took no action.
Then came September 4, 2024, the day the coalition agreement between the Liberals and the NDP quietly collapsed. Internally, the Liberal Party knew their grip on power was slipping. Jagmeet Singh needed to remain in office until February 2025 to secure his pension, so the window was narrow for Carney’s installation.
On September 9, Carney was appointed to the Liberal Party’s economic task force, again pro bono, allowing him to shape federal economic policy while still working with Brookfield behind the scenes.
At the same time, Brookfield solicited the federal government for $50 billion in investment: $36 billion proposed, $10 billion requested, and only $4 billion from Brookfield itself.
Offshore Exit: Brookfield Abandons Canadian Oversight
Then came the exit plan. On October 31, 2024, Brookfield announced its corporate relocation to New York, freeing itself from Canadian regulatory oversight. The decision was ratified at a shareholder meeting on December 20 and officially executed in January 2025.
This offshore move allowed Brookfield and Carney to escape financial disclosures and place key investment portfolios beyond Canadian jurisdiction.
From Finance to Politics: The Final Installation
That same month, on January 16, 2025, Carney resigned from Brookfield, declared his candidacy for Prime Minister, and began the final phase of the plan.
Nine days later, on January 25, MP Chandra Arya was disqualified from the Liberal Party, clearing the way for Carney to take the Nepean seat. Arya’s son remained the CFO of Brookfield. The coordination was exact. The trade-off was unmistakable.
On February 25, Jagmeet Singh qualified for his pension. Just days later, the plan accelerated. On March 9, Carney won the Liberal leadership race. On March 14, he was sworn in as Prime Minister. The problem? He still had no parliamentary seat. That was solved five days later.
On March 20, 2025, the Liberal Party revoked Chandra Arya’s nomination. Carney was installed in Nepean without contest. The timeline was designed to avoid disclosure laws. A new Prime Minister has 50 days to declare financial interests. Carney called the shortest possible election: 36 days. By the time disclosures would be required, the vote would already be over.
The Conflict of Interest: Carney Profits While Advising Government
During all of this, Carney was actively advising the government to invest in the same projects that Brookfield was financing projects from which he and his partners would profit for the next 15 years.
In October 2024, he negotiated a $250 million loan with Ottawa. In May 2024, he met with the Chinese leadership. All while the public remained unaware.
This was not a campaign. This was a quiet coup. A five-year operation that culminated in the legal but undemocratic installation of a globalist banker as Prime Minister.
The Fallout: Canada Stripped of Sovereignty
This is not just incompetence. It is intentional. While we were told to be nice, our borders were opened. Our energy was shut down. Our military was gutted. Our traditions were mocked. And our economy was handed over to international financiers who see Canada not as a country, but as a resource-rich colony to plunder.
We have a massive trade surplus. We are rich in gold, water, oil, timber, and uranium. And yet, we are drowning in debt, told to eat bugs, and scolded for using gas-powered vehicles.
From Trudeau to Carney: Phase One Ends, Phase Two Begins
Why?
Because this is no longer about left versus right. This is globalism versus sovereignty. Control versus freedom. And Trudeau was just phase one.
Phase two is Carney.
The media will push him. The corporations will back him. And the same voters who fell for Trudeau’s smile may fall again for Carney’s credentials. However, we are here to issue one final warning.
If Carney remains Prime Minister, we are not just losing a government. We are losing Canada.
A Final Warning: Get the Whole Truth Before It’s Too Late
We wrote It Starts With Gold because we saw this coming. The book lays it all out, how this financial coup is being engineered, who is behind it, and what you can do to prepare before the collapse is complete.
This is not speculation. It is happening. And if we do not act, we will wake up in a country we no longer recognize.
Do not look away. Do not call this politics. Call it what it is: the fight for our national survival.
